Information we collect
We may collect information needed to operate the app, including your device identifier, assigned 2ndLine phone numbers, call records, message records, credit balance, credit usage, subscription or purchase status, app diagnostics, and support messages you send us. If you select a contact from your device, the app uses that contact only to help you start a call or SMS.
Calls and SMS
2ndLine processes call and SMS metadata such as sender, recipient, time, duration, delivery status, and related Twilio identifiers. Message content may be stored so it can be shown in your inbox and synced with the backend. Call audio is routed through communication providers as needed for calling features; we do not use call audio for advertising.
How we use information
We use information to provide private numbers, calling, SMS, credits, purchase verification, fraud prevention, customer support, diagnostics, and service reliability. We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to improve the app.
Service providers
We use third-party providers to operate 2ndLine, including communication providers such as Twilio, hosting providers such as Railway, and Apple for App Store purchases and subscriptions. These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive purchase status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and related validation data so we can unlock numbers, credits, and subscription features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
SMS limitations
SMS delivery and verification code support can vary by service, country, carrier, and third-party app policies. Some services may block virtual, VoIP, or rented phone numbers. We do not guarantee that any specific third-party app will accept a 2ndLine number.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain accurate billing or credit records. You may contact support to request help with account or data questions.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
2ndLine is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can manage subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings. You can control device permissions such as contacts, microphone, and notifications in iOS Settings. You can contact us for privacy questions at support@2ndline.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on this page.
